After what felt like a very long semester, but one that seems to have gone by so quickly, I'm finally home. My final exams ended a week ago, and I travelled for almost a day to come to the other side of the world.
I made it by Mother's Day, which made me happy because I wasn't able to do so last year. While we're at it, I must say that I think days like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and any other so-and-so Day are created for the benefit of capitalism.
Nevertheless, there's still that symbolic meaning embedded into them, and I'm glad I got to be with my mom on Sunday. I know that there are so many people who weren't able to do so... So I'm very thankful to have a mom, and for being able to spend time with her.
...
Home is a strange thing. You miss it when you're away, but it feels like you never left when you come back. Everything is safe, familiar. It's home.
I love it.
I've missed everything so much.
The feeling I get when I leave through the arrival gate at the airport. It's amazing. Seeing my parents waiting there to greet me, seeing my dog; it really helps me realize that I'm finally home.
The smell, the sights... Everything is like what it was when I left.
Family. Every. Single. One. Of them...
And the food.
Home is amazing, and I love being here.
